AI Art Slop invades Compilation Albums

Hey all,

Recently I've noticed an interesting thing whilst listening to music - there seems to be way more lazily put together compilation albums. At first I thought maybe it was made by random people and they got to scrape a tiny amount of money off each play, but after seeing the above banger, I finally decided to go into the album's details to see who made it.

The Apple Music Album Listing showing X5 Music Group - Warner Music Group as the Copyright Holder

But no, I was wrong, it was made by X5 Music Group who are primarily a digital only compilation album creation firm, owned by Warner Music Group. Not surprising that the music giants want to squeeze more money out of their existing catalogue but surely they can do better than that. I mean the film reel is all wrong, and the key bit that stood out is the fact that they didn't even take the time to edit the text to be correct - like surely if you're speeding up the process that is the bare minimum you should be doing.

Arguably, that's the only unique piece of work they are doing, and it's not even really worthwhile work nowadays, as everyone has a music streaming service that does this, but personalised for every single person. Actually, I got this while listening to my station on apple music - it's really weird, sometimes I get Italian compilation albums with songs I like, rather than the original. But I guess if it works for them.

Have a lovely day, thanks for reading.
